Replacement parts for column

hey, i was lookin through the lmc catalog on replacement parts for the steering column (non tilt) for my 67...

i was wanting to clean it up and paint it, and replace the shift lever, turn signal lever, and shifter retainer, shift indicator and pointer housing. well in the catalog, the shifter and turn signal lever both have 67 part numbers, but the indicator retainer and shift indicator only show 71-72. the pointer housing shows the 67-70 model which looks like mine.

can i just use the 71-72 indicator and retainer? and why is there not a 67-70 shown?

this looks like the original column in the truck...

Re: Replacement parts for column

also noticed this today when i eventually just took it apart..

what would be the reason for someone splicing into this? i believe i will just fix it the right way and tape it up if it doesnt make any problems..but why would it be cut in the first place?
