Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
One additional comment, If you take the power curve PT gave, move it up 300rpm which is closer to where Mark says it will make peak TQ

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
sign me up for a steel headed 9-1 comp, small cam, 496 that makes 700 H.P.
Sounds like I wasted a ton of money bulding my 496 !! 13.5 to 1 comp, brodix cnc'd bb2 extras, big solid roller, super victor,1150 dominator that made a little over 800 h.p.

What did you have this engine in ? What were the specs on the car/truck , weight, gear ratio, and what are the numbers at the track ? Dyno sheets don't mean much to me, it's real easy to inflate the numbers. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 496 to be DYNO'D!
Generally this is where I would go into defensive mode, BUT, I did see the picture of your beautiful L78 camaro and I do believe you do deserve some respect. The 800 HP oval port 11.5 compression engine has not been down the track yet, my customer will have runs on it coming up this spring. To me, I like to know the (racing background) of the people questioning my dyno numbers. So I think its only fair I state my background. I machine and build and test my own engines, everything is machined in house with the crankshaft as an exception. 1. Two strait hot street championships (550 inch NA 10 inch tire 3350 pounds) both ends of the records, won every race except for 1 over a two season span, as an engine builder. 2. The fastest full weight, small tire, oval port (GM) production blocked chevelles in country come out of my shop. 3. Just for you I have an example of a Vortecpro powered 468 NA camaro, I think you just might be able to identify with. NA 468 9.40 @ 142.40 1.28 60 on the foot brake @ 1670 feet DA @ KCIR. BTW on that dyno you questioned the HP of, it made (the 468) 45 less hp than yours, 795 HP. Happy reading

Again, I don't have the full scoop on the motor. Garbage in = Garbage out. The program has proven itself with in 2% on quite a few wild motors. Not saying this build won't make what you are saying, just using the info that I have.
