what engine is all blue?

earlier i put up a post about my engine having blue valve covers, come to find out the entire engine is blue. Who makes an entirely blue engine or do you think the previous owner painted it blue?

I remember Pontiacs having blue engines, especially the 66, 67 GTO's. My 78-C-10 454 engine is all blue.

chevys were blue from mid to late 70's to at least 80

sameyrasmea72 beat me to it. Chevy changed the colors up until 1982 then they went to black on alot of them.

I guess that read wrong Jon, I should have read Blue til 82. I think 83 they changed the colors.

yeah there is a GM blue that isnt really dark but light shade of blue. I like ford blue muuuch better not really ford blue but that color of blue I think is the best color blue for an engine/drivetrain color.

Ok, I found out what engine I have finally, My truck is an 84, meaning that it was built in 83, so from 77-84 all the engines might of been blue. I have the original engine of my truck, not 100% sure but pretty sure, casting numbers were for an engine between the years 80-85, my year possibly being the last year of the blue.

Im pissed, I was told I had a GM Goodwrench in there.

all the goodwrench engines Ive seen have the black valvecovers with the goodwrench sticker on them..

The 305 that came stock in my 85 was GM blue.
