1972 Suburban 2WD for sale - Olympia WA

1972 3/4 ton 2WD Suburban - This truck is really clean, and almost all original, but does have quite a bit of rust. I just bought it from the PO who only owned it for a few years, and never used it. The guy before him was the original owner owner since new. It has the original scroll pattern parchment interior and cargo panels. The rear wood is real solid, and new black carpet. The floorboards are in okay shape although the passenger rocker is rusted thru. It has quite a few options, but the original owner got rid of the tilt wheel? Why I don't know? The original owner also installed an axilary tank under the rear seat. (See pic #6 below) The guy I bought it from said the engine "got hot" whatever that means, and it doesn't run...missing some parts. Post any questions you may have, I will reply ASAP. I am asking 750.00, but will consider offers since I just want to get it sold (need money for all my other projects )

Some rust in the usually panels - behind the rear tires, and behind passenger door, also some in the doors. It does need some TLC, but a good starting point for a project

68 Suburban- Yeah the rear seat mounts right on top of that tank. The guy never used it, but the mount holes are there in the top of it. This thing is real clean and original. I am amazed at how good the seats and stuff have held up. I will post a pic later of the cargo area and the cargo panels (All original scroll parchment)

Hey, nice 'Burb!

One question........How did woodgrain door inserts end up on a Custom Deluxe???
Fronts may have been swapped in at some point, but the rears???

And where can I find a set of the rears???
Was thinking about W/G inserts for a Crew Cab project, but since Cheyenne Super was never offered on a 'Burb.........

Anybody know?

Mike

Hey Hardrock2 - The only door panel that isn't a woodgrain is the 3rd door? I was wondering the same thing- why that 3rd door was different. So the woodpanels aren't original? The glovebox option sheet reads Custom Deluxe Equipment- was wood door panels included in that. This Burb was also the 3 seat option, but doesn't have the 3rd seat.

custom deluxe

There was no cheyenne suburban package. I have custom deluxe with factory woodgrain panels too (1972). I had a custom once with scroll panels. I' m certain aat least some custom deluxe suburbans if not all had the woodgrian. I think burbs were either c/10, custom or custom deluxe.

Wow!
Learn something new every day. LOL!
All the '72 'Burbs I've ever seen that were Custom Deluxe (the top trim level for 'Burbs) had the scroll panels with just the stainless border trim.
Is anyone re-popping the rear Suburban woodgrain inserts??

supply and demand

Its hard to imagine enough demand for repo. on these panels. Put me down for a set when they do. I would ever be interested in a custom rebuild (woodgrain) of mine.

Did this truck come from the Seattle area by any chance? I swear I have seen one just like it around here a few times.
