The sound goes away
I just bought an 86 gmc, that had a tape deck in it that didn't work, so I am in the process of changing it out to an Alpine CD player. I have everything wired up using the same wires they had for the tape deck. I checked them against a wiring diagram I had for the truck, and everything seems to match up. My issue is that when I have the radio on and I pull the light switch out the sound goes away. I still have power to the radio I just don't have sound. Once I push the headlight switch in the sound comes back. has anyone ever experienced this before or know where I went wrong?
thanks Ian |

Re: The sound goes away
The lead for the radio light is,I believe gray.I had the same thing happen, and found that I had mistaken it for a speaker lead.Double-check the wiring,to avoid damage to the speakers/radio.
