I'm at a point on my 68 Burb 2wd to 4wd conversion where I have to cut, fab and weld some stuff to make my spring hangers and shackles work, which got me thinking, if I'm going to be cutting my frame and fab brackets, now would be the time to decide whether or not to go with a front 4 link/coil set up. My main reason would be for ride quality, but also for future ease of adjusting ride height.
This vehicle will be used as a daily driver and might haul a trailer now and then. For now I'm planing on a Dana 44, 14 bolt with a 350/700R4/208 set up. I'm not against leaf springs, it's just my impression that coils ride nicer. I'm planning on little or no lift with a tire size fairly close to stock. (Not taller than 33") Any thoughts, advise on this? Any good suppliers for brackets or kits for this conversion? I've googled quite a bit looking for this stuff, but would rather hear what you guys think. I also tried the search engine on this site and got this regardless of what I typed in..

the only kits i have found are about 4 grand, lots of money but should make for a nice ride. i wanted to swap frames with an 88 and newer truck for a better ride

Yeah, I saw a kit on one site for 4k. Pretty sure I could make one for a fraction of that. As far as the 88up design goes, I'd rather have a rough ride than have independent suspension on a classic 4x4.

Not up on lifts or swapping front ends, but don't the newer Dodges have a solid front end with coil springs? If so, it may be a parts source. (something to think about)
