Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

A very nice clean setup, nice update over stock. The price of the gauges are not bad either.

Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

PERECT. thats how this bezel came out. i contacted Jeff about his brackets a couple months ago. he didnt have a set to work with the carbon fiber gauges. our solution was to send the bezel and the gauges to him and have the brackets made. while he had both he would put them together. his quality and workmanship was second to none. he took time not to scratch the bezel, made sure everything was square, and when it was done shipped and insured the package. im impressed. i joined this site looking for information and help with my restoration i started three years ago. i have met many great people including Jeff. if anyone is looking to have their gauges done the same way i would not hesitate to recomend him. he is very passionate about his work and it shows. -Bill

Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

Thanks Bill for the feedback. It was fun working on your cluster assembly, now I can't wait to see it installed in your truck.

I'll give you a ring tonight, to fill you in on a couple tips prior to install.

Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

You've perfected that upgrade - excellent work.

Can you get these gauges with 8K tachs and 120 mph speedometers?

Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

This may sound like a stupid question but with the reccessed gauges is there a way you can take the front that is plastic and turn it into aluminum diamond plate? I was thinking about doing a diamond plate dash with the setup like you have I think would look really good. Am I totally off base here? just curious?

Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

I was doing a search for some instrument cluster mods, having this mod in mind and I'm so glad I found this thread. That is exactly the look I want for mine! VERY nice job. It looks super-clean!!

Re: Recessed Autometer Gauge build

my truck is far from being done. my 406 is on the dyno as we speak. cant wait to hear it run for the first time on monday! if you are interested in brackets or having Jeff do your gauges for you, you will not be disapointed. fit and finish on the brackets are very impressive for the price. the pictures dont do the bezel justice. it is flawless. i like aftermarket gauges but the factory look. my truck is in bodyshop hell. i hope to get it painted by the spring.....serious. i will post pics when the dash is installed. dont hesitate to contact Jeff if you have any questions, he is very easy to get along with and will walk you through the whole build process. -Bill
