85 Silverado door latch

My outside door button quit working & I found out that the linkage rod from the button had come off at the latch. There are 2 holes where it connects & it looks like there is something that goes in the 2 holes for the rod to connect to. I can't find a diagram anywhere that includes this piece. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Re: 85 Silverado door latch

i think the rod goes in the upper hole and the other hole is where the clip locks that holds the rod in place.
