Tilt column steering wheels: black or match interior?
I know that factory columns are black but were the steering wheels black also or did they match the interior? My K10 has medium olive interior so I'm wondering what color wheel is correct: green or black. Thanks, Pete

I have some tilts that I'm gonna use in my projects. I am gonna do some in body colorand some in black I think it would look good in green but if your trying to look factual or original do black

Re: Tilt column steering wheels: black or match interior?
Thanks guys. My non-tilt column was green with a green wheel and I know that all non-tilt columns matched the wheel. But since all tilts were black I figured that the wheels on tilts were black also but am not sure.

Re: Tilt column steering wheels: black or match interior?
I believe all tilt wheels were black also... same as the column.

Re: Tilt column steering wheels: black or match interior?
, All truck tilts were originally black and had black steering wheels , when done correctly they can look just as nice in color. Mel

Re: Tilt column steering wheels: black or match interior?
wow - those look nice - I always kinda wished that they had done ALL tilts in the interior color, but black looks nice too (with some coloes - red, for instance). But I believe the above is correct - all tilts and wheels on them were originally black. Non-tilts were colormatched with the interior and the wheel. In the pics above, we see what coulda been!! Nice!

Re: Tilt column steering wheels: black or match interior?
Yep,black column/black wheel/black between dash pad and windshield, and black dash pad also as far as I known. I build 99% (maybe slightly less, but you get it) correct trucks and always color-match the columns cuz I think GM shoulda...just like cars. My Hugger Orange '72 Cheyenne Super with parchment interior had black column/wheels,dash pad/a/c vents. I did the column, comfort grip wheel, and dash pad in sandalwood and the a/c vents in Hugger Orange. It looked factory...only better. If I had gone all orange it would have looked custom.
