Grandpas truck making progress...
So a few years back I got my grandpas truck for my birthday. It has sat in a field for a couple years until I got a chance to work on it... So I am just finishing up my motor and preparing the truck for the install... Here is my motor thus far... I am running the following:
Bored 30 over, New rings bearing, Upgraded cam, roller rockers, and SR torker heads, flow tech headers, Proformer intake, etc... It is meant to be a great off the line truck... Here is the truck when I got it and the motor thus far.... and the truck... So what are the odds? the truck has been parked for 8 years or so... not driven much the last 15, but when we checked the ac for pressure it was good. the compressor seemed good, wonder if the factory air will still work... Hopefully we know in a couple weeks..

Re: Grandpas truck making progress...
Grandpa actually passed away in about 8 years ago. Grandma kept the truck until she started getting really sick. Things got pretty bad in the family, everyone trying to get what they wanted. She knew I wanted the truck, but so did other grand kids. I was the oldest grand kid, and she felt I deserved it the most, but was afraid to make a couple others upset. So my wife offered her to buy it and she could add the amount to the estate. So on my wife bought me the truck as a birthday surprise... Grandma was happy as I got the truck, and did not force her to choose.
At any rate her and grandpa bought the truck new off the show room floor in 1972. I have all the original documents with sigs, etc. I just want to get her running and then address the rust someday.

Re: Grandpas truck making progress...
Very cool to keep it in the family and put it back on the road.
