67 c10 project
Ive been wanting this truck since my freshman year of highschool from my dad. I am now a freshman in college and hes finally passing it down. Its been in my family since 67 when my grandpa bought it. Just thought id start a thread to show the restoration process.
I did do alittle work on it back in highschool |

Re: 67 c10 project
looks like it may need a little work now, I think it's real good to know the history on the unit and you have that 4 sure.

Re: 67 c10 project
Yeah I agree, but at least I have the engine and transmission out and the front clip is just resting on the frame right now too. But my first plans are to get it running strong so i can restore it and drive it at the same time. I gotta get it runnin this summer before i go back to college

what size tires are those in the first pic? the truck is stock height right? Did you rub when turning?

Re: 67 c10 project
in the 1st pic the tires were 35x12.50x15s, they rubbed terribly when the truck turned. We had no engine or trans in the truck when those pictures were taken and the tall tires gave me lots of room so i didnt have to jack the truck up to crawl under it haha

Re: 67 c10 project
well i've been wanting to lower the rear end of the truck about 3", i was looking at buying some drop coils, but im on a budget and need to start saving some money for when i go back to college. Me and dad talked about torching the springs, but we have heard of bad suspension and just overall not a good idea. So my dad got the torch out and we made some U-bolts, and then used the drill press to drill through the metal to fasten the u bolt to. It works pretty well, still rides alittle bumpy, but oh well. It was a cheap way of getting the look i wanted.

Re: 67 c10 project
i also found out today that i am the 4th generation in my family to have this truck passed down to them. My great grandad passed and gave it to my grandma, who gave it to my dad, and he is now giving it to me.
