Brake booster question: DELCO OR BENDIX?
I'm going to replace the booster/master cyl. on my 2wd. '72 Blazer. Autozone has them rebuilt for $109 for the pair + a $25 off coupon if you use their free shipping. They list 2 different ones online, a DELCO and a BENDIX.. they have different part numbers. I've seen DELCO MORAINE stamped on GM boosters always but can't find it on my Blazer. If I don't see DELCO does that mean it's a BENDIX? The booster has several numbers stamped into it. I'm going to install a tilt steering column soon and if I do both at the same time I can do a little clean and detail job in that area. The fresh booster/master cyl. will look better too. thanks for your help.

Re: Brake booster question: DELCO OR BENDIX?
I just went through this same thing. I talked to a mechanic that has two fully restored k5's. He told me it didn't matter. I bought the Delco and it works just fine.

If I remember right, I heard the bendix boosters are black and the delcos are the gold annodized looking ones.

I did it and had the bolt holes misaligned so i took it back and got the other brand. Mite also be a different push rod. If they have both then your out the price of gas.

Re: Brake booster question: DELCO OR BENDIX?
Thanks ya'll, the booster on it currently is black. I thought somebody had painted it 'cause it was cruddy. Guess it's a Bendix... both Delco & Bendix are available and they're the same price. Been lookin' at these trucks for 40+ years and never noticed a painted booster.
