Re: Twin turbo
Just asking: why are you thinking about turbos and what engine/trans/rearend are you running? What kind of uses is the truck being built for?

Re: Twin turbo
Whats it gonna cost and is your engine built to take the extra HP? If its a driver I am sure theres a loss in gas mileage. with gas at 4 bucks a gallon and going up!

Re: Twin turbo
Yes but I used to have big block chevy street machines including a 10.8s second on motor 9.7s on the bottle full chassis 60 vette which we drove 17,000 miles on the street,64 malibu ss with a 468 bbc drove it 20k miles when gas was 2 bucks a gallon. Both got between 10 and 12 mpg
The current truck project has a regular gas 6.0 LQ9 (40K miles)truck motor no cats with speartech harness and reprogramed pcm shold be 370 hp almost 400 ft lb torque stock. Plus a 100 hp of N.O.S. 4L65E with 3.55 gear, race azles and caltrac bars. Which Should get over 20mpg? Its at least 1000 lbs lighter than the doner truck Last edited by bbadfred; 03-09-2012 at 12:51 PM. |

I am not knocking what he wants to do and I am very aware of how much it costs. Just wondering about the praticality? Yes it would really be a *****in setup!!
I have been thinking about a factory blown ls engine for my next one. |

Re: Twin turbo
I doesn't have to cost a fortune...and you don't have to go with tons of boost...pic a number for your RWHP.....then GO FOR IT...if you're worried about mpg then your in the wrong hobby...my $.02
Here is an article to show you an example. http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/h...g_bang_theory/ |
