What's the difference between these two low beam headlights?

I need to replace a low beam headlight on my 1963 and I guess I don't know what the difference is between the two listed on the lmc website page 107 http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe/full.aspx?Page=107

What's the difference between part number 36-0253 and pn 36-0260?

Tia,
Joe

Just a guess here, but one is halogen and the other is just plain old incandescent.

Not sure, when you add it to your cart one says halogen and the other says sealed beam, but afaik that's the same thing..

Re: What's the difference between these two low beam headlights?

They are both sealed beams. As noted in the previous post one is a conventional sealed beam and the other is halogen. This isn't new tech, halogen sealed beams have been around for at least 20 years. The halogens have two key features – they are significantly brighter than non-halogen sealed beams, and they burn out faster than any other type of headlamp on the market. Every time my truck leaves the garage the headlights are on. While conventional bulbs can last several decades, even running all the time, halogen bulbs only last a few months with continuous use.

For many years I ran halogen sealed bulbs in all four positions until I just got fed up constantly replacing them. Now I run conventional non-halogen bulbs in the low beam positions and halogens in the high beam positions. Since my high beams don’t get used very often, they last a couple of years before burning out.
