Machining the front hub/rotor??
Just wondering how many of you guys have had clearance issues on the snout of the front bearong hub on the rotors? I ran into this problem with the BOSS 338 wheels and have seen a few pics of people turning down that area for clearance. I even talked this over with the guys from Billet Specialties when I ordered a new set of wheels from them and still had to turn back about .375" down to a 1.437" diameter. They said the wheel is made right according to there specs for the application. I see many of the two-piece designs (hub and rotor seperate) have a tapered hub for clearance.

I had the same issue, just had to take a hair off the hub, I may have cheated and used a flapper disc on the grinder and took patience, but took it down a hair to get the wheels to slide over the hub.

Same here. Boss 338 - 20" wheels. I was assured buy the wheel guys that they worked. Not!!!
They did the grinding themselves and it cost me nothing but a few more minutes at the tire store.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

This shows how much I had to machine the hub even to fit the Billet Specialties wheels. The Boss wheels are still about an 1/8" from fitting against the hub face.
