HID conversion (help needed)
Ok, I want to do a conversion on my 84 GMC for HID's. I have them on my car thats my daily driver, but it doesn't seem like its going to be that easy. All the research I've done on the site seems to be 7' round headlight and swapping them out with 08 jeeps. Also the rectangular headlights on ebay seem to be cheap plastic and not the look i want, Im wanting a factory look just clearer/brighter lighting. like I've said i have installed them before on my car and it was very simple, i just was wondering if anybody has done it and could lead me in the right direction here. I want highs and lows which i know would be 9005 and 9006. Some where there has to be a website i can piece all of this together I just haven't found the right one. I know i can buy the actually HID ballast and lights for a decent price so i guess i just need the lamps themselves?

Re: HID conversion (help needed)
what all is required to do this conversion? i bought all the stuff to put mine on relays to get more light output, but maybe the HIDs would be a better route?

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Cat...hting/HID-Kits If you want high lows to go on at the same time ( you do since hids take a whole to warm up) you will need a couple of diodes as well Posted via Mobile Device

Re: HID conversion (help needed)
To do it properly you need to retrofit HID projectors into some 7" housings. If you just put HID bulbs into a housing made for something like an H4 bulb, you will just blind the crap outta everyone and attract attention from the cops. You basicly chop the back out of your housings and jb weld and silicone in some HID projectors
LIght output looks like this (None of the above pics are mine) Heres a great website to learn everything you need to know about HID retrofitting http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/ |
