Ls1 alternater bracket camero and corvette?
I have an ls1 out of a camero and I need to move my alternater to clear the rack on my drop member. I noticed on a corvette ls1 the alternater was high with the power steering. What would I need to buy to make my ls1 like the corvette ls1 ? I want to use gm parts and not after market. Thanks for any input!

Re: Ls1 alternater bracket camero and corvette?
You will need almost everything. The Corvette stuff sits 3/4" closer to the block, so you will need new power steering, alternator and A/C brackets as well as a new crank pulley. The existing alternator and PS pump might work, but I wouldn't count on them bolting up to the new brackets.
I know you said no aftermarket, but KWIK Performance has a bracket that utilizes the stock F-body pump, alternator, and crank pulley, but places the alternator in a similar position to the Corvette accessory drive. A little paint or powder coat and you'd never notice it's not factory. http://www.kwikperf.com/lsx_alt_ps.html As a side note: if you get rid of the stock F-body brackets, I'm looking for a set... Edit: You could also acquire all of the stock Corvette stuff and space it out .75" from the block/head. This will make it align with your stock crank pulley.
