High Horsepower - Air Suspension Question
The plans for my 72 Chevy in a couple of years include a 700 HP motor (not sure which yet, torn between three at the moment), and an air bag suspension. I was wondering if an air bag suspension would handle good with this kind of power. I'd like to occasionally take it to the dragstrip, and would like it to handle well in the corners. I'll have swaybars front and rear also. If the suspension handles good, what should the settings be (bag pressure, ride height, etc.) be for each case, cruising, drag racing, and cornering?

An air ride suspension will be fine w/ any motor. Handling capability will largely be determined by the valve configuration and other factors. A 4-way setup eliminates air transfer from side-to-side that a 2-way setup (F/R control) will induce. Bag pressure will vary as all vehicles are different. Ride height depends on how much ground clearance you have, wheel/tire combination, and what kind of suspension setup you have. All bags have a specified minimum and maximum height. Generally speaking, at ride height, the vehicle will perform great in all situations.

Thanks BaggedC10, that's what I was looking for! I'll probably have more in depth questions when I order the system and install it, but that probably won't be for a few more years. Thanks again!
