Softop installation no Holes

Finally finshed installing my new softopper. I didnt want to put holes in the windshield mast so I made a mold of the top of the windshield and then made a part from the mold to accomadate the installation without drilling holes
The part I made utilizes the same holes in wich the the Hard top does. From there I got my new softopper and put the holes in my part to match the snaps in the softtopper .
It worked very nicely but I think I would like to tweek my mould a little for the next one .

Definitely interested in more pics! Great work! If I were you I would get set up to start popping these out and listing them in the classified section I can think of a few people who may be interested in one of these.

Re: Softop installation no Holes

Definately a market for this, as I'm sure there are many more people like myself that cringe at the thought of drilling holes in rust free South West sheetmetal.

As a matter of fact, with one of these, I just might make the plunge for a softtop and put up with the other idiosyncrocies that come with having a softtop. Drilling holes was the biggest hangup for me.

I was thinking the same thing (not wanting to drill holes) - great idea and nice job getting it done. I would be interested in more info as well.

Re: Softop installation no Holes

Are you interested in making some for others? For a fee of course? I know I would be interested. I picked up a soft top over the winter and want to get it on and fine tuned before winter. Did you mount the piece you made the attach the snaps to that piece? Inquiring minds want to know lol!

Re: Softop installation no Holes

I'm actually looking at getting a fibre glass shop to spray my mold with a chop gun. Im not really interested in doing them myself cause I dont really have the time .Right now I dont think also I couldnt sell them for under $200 and I think that shorts me a little.
Anyway I'm also doing a couple Rear hatch overhauls and will have a couple for sale soon . Enjoys the pics

Re: Softop installation no Holes

Ok here it is.................. I'm looking to find out who is interested in signing up for one of my windshield caps and willing to committ to a purchace within the next month . I'm meeting a fibre glass shop tommorrow for a price per my build instructions .With what I know today my expenses are the equivilent of $238.00 per each . I am fully interested in getting a better price from him cause the shipping will be another issue in itself but also had a thought of sending the parts to Softopper in one shippment If the bulk of orders are also buying a softopper although just a thought to save shipping cost
It is my intention to sell all ten parts before shipping .Bring me your thoughts Regards Rob

Very nice. My Kayline puts one snap just below the drip rail

What did you do for the tail gate?

Re: Softop installation no Holes

Thanks Bouncy .The tailgate was left as per softopper instructions. That is to say that their instructions have a strip of velrco accross the tailgate but I have'nt put it on yet citing I dont feel the need for it at this point in time .But havent been on the highway yet either. So It might be an issue is what you may be eluding top??? I guess its a wait and see program for me !

Re: Softop installation no Holes

I'd be interested in one of these, are you still putting this together? What is the final cost going to be to buy one of these from you?

Thanks
