Routing fuel lines

Looking for suggestions or tips on how you are routing your fuel lines. I am going to run the nylon tubing and have my fuel tank under the bed. I also have a 9" step notch. I have to fit the pump and filter on the frame rail, but don't see a way to mount the pump below the tank since I have to route the lines over the notch.

Re: Routing fuel lines

mine are mounted just below the top of the tank along the frame rail. I don't have a notch but I'd think as long as its on the other (high pressure) side of the pump you'll be OK. I used all 3/8" s.s. hose and AN fittings for attachment. Corvette regulator is on the inside of the frame rail and provides the short return back to the tank.

You have the regulator on the return side? I thought it was upstream from the pump.

Perfect! I have a similar tank, so I know what to do now!

Is that a filter before the pump too? Guess that is a good idea so I don't clog up the pump... Glad this site is here.

The vette style has the return built in, so its not ON the return, it IS the return.

You can run a pre-filter but you need to check the micron size, you don't want the pump to be sucking through a big restriction.

Re: Routing fuel lines

ahh, I forgot the vette had the return on it too.

One more question...
Since I have the stock regulator on the rail; Do I still need the vette regulator?

Nope, just a inline filter after the pump and a filter before the pump like 68GMCCustom if you wish. FWIW, I'm not running a pre-filter.

Re: Routing fuel lines

I ran mine inside the frame rail. A little less visible.
