It is against our policy for someone to post a complaint about a member’s
price on whatever they are selling. If you don't like the price then skip it.
Let it drop to the bottom on its own. They (potential buyers) will figure it
out, why nobody is jumping on that particular item.

To post or transmit hate speech, harassing content, threats of violence
against another member written in a serious manner or joking with a hint of
innuendo will lead to 24 hour suspension or up to the Administrator’s
discretion for immediate suspension off the web site.

I went back and reviewed board rules. It seems to me that these P.M.'s violate both of these policies if not by the letter of the law then certainly by the spirit. IMO, if you can't treat other members with courtesy then you have no business being involved on this board. I would encourage a one warning and then banning violators system. If Josh does not feel comfortable taking on this by himself, I would suggest that he choose a few of the "oldtimers" to act as an advisory committee on this particular issue. Shoot the offending PM's to Josh and he could share them with the group to determine appropriate action. I would not take long before behavior changed or the offenders were removed. Just some food for thought.

C'mon Six Pack. Lets be civil about this. I don't particularly want to know who's been causing problems. I can't do anything with the info anyway. You also don't want to come across as militant to the point that new members don't want to be apart of this great asset we have here.

I like Orence1's idea a lot, but we don't want to turn this into something so exclusive new members shy away from buying/selling parts. Would it be strictly "problem" oriented so moderators only get involved if there's a dispute, or do we instigate a moderating board for determining if people should even buy/sell or not to begin with? I think the former is good, and the latter is a bit over the top.

At the same time we don't want the willy-nilly carrying on that can make the parts board an unpleasant experience (as it seems like it's becoming). Maybe we just encourage the moderation of transactions that have already been instigated with $$$ payment, and there's a problem of some sort. That way all of the stuff that goes on before the sale doesn't clutter the process. We don't want to make the board responsible for any $ liabilities, but we do want to be able to stop bad buyers and sellers from returning...
