Am I insane?
I have a habit of talking too long, so I'm going to make this question short and to the point...
I currently possess a completely stripped 1971 GMC air cab with no title. I also currently possess a 1968 Chevy non air cab, currently held together with flaking paint, cobwebs, dried up wasp nests, and rust. With matching doors and title. The GMC cab has had some half-a&*sed rust repair work done some years ago (rockers replaced, but poorly... floor pans replaced, with pop-riveted sheetmetal, etc). It is also pretty beat up from being in storage for the last 20 years (dents, gouges, etc) I also possess a 1971 Chevy Long Fleet C10 with Air, PS, PB, with extensive rust and a salvage title from the wrecking yard I rescued the truck from (Desert Valley Auto Parts in Northern Phoenix if it matters). It has 4 new (stock height) springs, 4 new shocks, front sway bar and mounts, non adjustable track arm bar, and front end rebuild. Should I take the 68 cab off the 68 frame, install the 71 GMC cab and fix the "repairs"? Or should I offer the GMC cab, the remains of the 71 chevy (I'm taking the 68 front clip back off of it this coming weekend, as well as the bed), and whatever leftover parts I have in trade for a clean rust free 67 or 68 big window cab? AC isn't a requirement. Or should I call around and see if anyone nearby would do the rust repair work for all of the above and some cash? |

Re: Am I insane?

I'd look for a better start...hear about guys almost giving away doors and fenders and cabs that are awesome selling for 2-300...(first hand info)
