85 c10 seats in a 68?
Hello all!
My brother in law swapped a T56 in his 85 C10 and had to remove his old bench seat and had to install bucket seats. He left his seat with me and I was wondering if anyone has tried to fit them in their truck? Do you have to modify or is it a direct fit? I tried searching it but came up with no direct answer. Thanks for any insight!!

1. Remove your old seat.
2. Put the '85 seat in your cab. Line up any bolt holes that the frame of the seat will allow. 3. Drill a couple of holes (at the most) and use large fender washers beneath the floor, to then bolt the seat in place. 4. Adjust and drive.

We tryed this a while ago and it will not bolt in without drilling, even with it sitting in the cab the 85 seat felt very wrong

Re: 85 c10 seats in a 68?
I'm sorry it was a long time ago that we tryed this, but iirc the seat was really low to the floor and i think shorter than the original the steering wheel felt like ape hangers and my son couldnt see over the dash.the 73-? trucks have a differnt floor pan.
If your really intrested try its only a couple of bolts maybe you will like it

Re: 85 c10 seats in a 68?
I have an 80's seat in my truck that was there when I bought it. As far as fitment goes I'm 6' 2" and 230lbs with long legs and sit good on that seat. If you can wait a day or two I can take pics of it and how its bolted to the floor and post em on here for you. I am actually going to replace the seat with an original bench ( with black and white houndstooth) not because its uncomfortable but because I want the truck to look as original as possible.

Re: 85 c10 seats in a 68?
Did yo try putting the stock brackets on the later model seat? Since the 73-87 models have such an unlevel & elevated floor, it makes the later model brackets unusable.
You may try looking at an 88-94 model bench. They swapin with a minimum for fuse.

Re: 85 c10 seats in a 68?
Swapping brackets worked for me. I have a bench seat out of a late model Ford F-150. I had to do a little measurin' and drill a couple of holes in the new seat, but it was no big deal and worked like a champ.
