Re: DURG's Black 65 C10
I've read alot of the posts about taking out the rivets in the various crossmembers and mounts. I just step drilled the holes and they punched out fairly easily.
These photos shows the progression: ![]() ![]() |

She was born with a low hump, but I have a high one located and I believe I am getting the 62 Hydraglide style bolt in front section as well.

![]() ![]() ![]() Hopefully I will get the frame sandblasted in the next week or so. I can do it myself at home, it's just a matter of time and weather. |

Re: DURG's Black 65 C10
I am impressed with the condition of this truck. Very few surprises during disassy. No more rust than I already knew about which is not much. All the hardware came apart nicely.
Stuff I either have ordered or already here: Porterbuilt front touring coilover clip with tubular a-arms, sway bar, and Porterbuilt 4 link rear ordered. Nate already had the Ride Tech adjustible coilovers, Hyperco springs, Unisteer power rack drop shipped. I have the CPP modular spindles and I have ordered the Moser 5 lug axles and the Wilwood rear brake setup. I also have my Nitto 555 tires and am waiting on the Coy's C-5 wheels. 22" and 20" in the regular gray and machined. |

[QUOTE=DURG;5469513]
![]() Anybody know why the grease pencil markings are always upside down from the factory? Answer: Because the truck frames always came down the line upside down and the suspension components were lowered from above. The workers would ID the chassis with grease pencils for accountability. Right before the cab and frame were mated, they would flip the frame right-side up. If this truck turns out half as nice as the '62 Impala, it's going to be amazing. I'll be tuning in for this build. You obviously have this stuff figured out.
