need help asap please hood wont open

Hey guys, tried to open my hood to jump dead battery pulled inside release nothing happened just handle pulled and no hood pop up. Its on a 81 silverado with 91 gmc grill core support change. How can I get into it???? Any help would be great this is my daily driver. Thanks in advance!! John

If you can feel a tad bit of tension on the hood cable,... hold the handle out and have somebody bump the hood overtop the latch.

bang it right in the the center and it should pop up.

Yeah they are right, I do this with my truck all the time because my cable is split and doesn't work properly some times.

my 78 is off centered and you need to push it slightly to the side to open
lol I watched a friend struggle with it
said he thought it was chain locked down
but the 88, hitting it was norn

My suburban Takes 2 hits on each side of the hood ornament a little rub and one last hit and then it pops open.....You just gotta be smooth.
