I think I made a dually bed decision, need to confirm a few things.
OK, I have a 88 square C&C reg cab dually, I have bounced through a number of ideas trying to figure out which way I wanted to go to make a car hauler out of it. My current decision is to put a long bed on it and extend it to meet the cab. I have learned that the C&C axle is narrower than a reg dually so a dually bed wont work, but the tires fit within the bed side on a regular bed. Is this correct? Do I then need to tub the inner fender to make room for the inside tire? Will a doubled stock wheel well work or do I need to split the wheel well and splice a band into it? Any experienced answers would be greatly appreciated and as always pictures are great.
Anybody near the corner of AL, GA & FL got a rust free long bed or 2 for sale? |

I have seen cab and chassis rear axles under an 8' bed as duallys and the tires didn't interfere with the bed. But, they had small tires on them. I bet if you move the tubs in 3" or so, you can make it work ok.

To post a wanted ad you'll need to pony up for the paying membership, a mod will remove that once they see it. (Of course I'll need to do that myself as well once I figure out what I end up looking to buy) just trying to help keep ya out of trouble

There I fixed it.
