Don,

Looking good but PLEASE stop using cinder blocks as axle stands!!!

I have the scars to prove what happens when they collapse.....

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Thanks for Looking in and also the input on the cinder blocks…

Only used those while I was getting the Steering box mounted...

Resting a sore shoulder from moving a wood burning fireplace out of a dilapidated house while trying to stay above the rotten floor...

Grabbed the mail this morning and was pleasantly surprised with a tube from Grizz in the UK...
Thanks Rian…

The yellow Boddingtons tap handle will be a shifter knob in a ratrod I will build for myself in the future…
The Bacardi bat bottle topper will go on the existing ratrod as a shifter topper…
Mrs. Boss already claimed the bracelets as well as the beanie...
The tube will be re-used to send something Rian's way...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Not much done today… I used the Bacardi Bat Bottle Topper and the small Sugar Skull as a Shifter extension for my Rat project…
IMG_1513 by ta2don, on Flickr

After the Shifter project, I pulled the Odometer out of the Gauge Instrument Cluster I recently scored and rolled it back to all Zeros...
Untitled by ta2don, on Flickr

The next step for the cluster is to swap the white faced speedo plate and apply the white face stickers to the 4 gauges… I had already done the white face treatment to the original cluster… I'm also going to research which Tach will be the easiest to adapt to the Right end of the gauge cluster… any tips will be appreciated...

Pleasure Don.

As long as I can create havoc in your life, I am a happy man.

Just checked in commented on your Ratrod project too.

Thought I would leave more crappy ideas for you to pursue ( I have the local scrap yard guy looking for a decent donor for me)

Wheelbarrow tub, "soap box cart"

How good would that look on the back of the Ratrod, or even your Stepper.??

Thanx Brotha!
…after chatting with Grizz, following the posting of the latest cluster pic, I may leave the metal plate black… Here is a pic of my original cluster in the white that I had intended to do… maybe too much white...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

We'll Don, I have heard of traveling on a budget, but this must be the cheapest run around Paris, France you will get.

With Nicola and her daughter out to France last week for her birthday, I wondered how to share the pics I know some of the guys on here like to see. But they are all in high resolution, so emailing 125 photos in batches of 5 was never going to work.
So I loaded them into a file on her laptop, placed my digital camera on a tin of Heinz soup, and had the works iPad play some French music next to it while filming the screen in the dark kitchen, after which I uploaded it to YouTube. Think a piece of string, a couple of paper clips and an old shoe technology.

Mostly photos taken in Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur churches, and grave yards, including Jim Henderson of the Doors and Oscar Wilde the author's graves. Some skulls and bones of 6 million dead people in the catacombs under Paris toward the end.

So here you go......... Paris on the cheap.

http://youtu.be/VBAgJ1W5jKE

I hope you have a glass of wine at hand and some cheese.

Sorry about the not so professional quality.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Rian aka Grizz emailed me some pics from his day out today and amongst them was this Swedish Beer…
IMG_1828 by ta2don, on Flickr
So now I need to order some because I need to add one of these cans to my collection of crazy stuff I have in my tattoo workroom…

Tomorrow's plans include a trip into town to collect a decent load of free lumber and a couple of counter tops… Then a trip a bit later to HF to grab a couple of needed items...

Laterz Guyz and Galz...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

No real truck time, unless you consider a phone call to Bomp truck time… I do...
So today, Old man winter gave us a cloudy and rainy day… I loaded up my bud's trailer and off to the studio...
The unit next to my studio is getting a remodel so I scarfed up the unwanted lumber and countertops for FREE... to be used in my shop to be built in the near future...

With the help of a couple of young guys, read good lumber moving backs, we loaded up and hauled a load to my place… The ride home also involved the aforementioned phone conversation with Greg…

Later it was off to HF with Mrs. Boss and Jojo…
Here are some pics…

Loving the pic brother! Good to have a short chat yesterday. Not sure about the truck yet, called the guy and he has two other guys interested. One who's coming too see it today so for my luck it'll be sold before I can get to it. Ah, maybe the good Lord will make things work in my favor.
