Well,I've had one for sale here for $200 for months and it's still with me. They are heavy,so location of any interested parties is paramount. Mine's a 3.73 and I ended up listing it in 67-72 as a candidate for conversion for hiway friendly gears. I feel $300 is a reasonable price and I believe junk yards get as much as $500.

In my area they are worth about $300-500 for front AND rear, if its a dana 44/10 bolt front. $1000 for a D60/14BFF single rear wheel
I might be a bit out of touch, because I never buy just one diff, all my trucks are 4x4's so I'm always interested in a pair. I paid $350 for a pair with 4.10 gears, a 14BFF and a 8 lug corp 10 from an 87 K20 for the axle swap in my 86 K10. I think I stole them. I think $200 is a smoking deal for the one Tim has. I'd say $200-300 on CL and it will move fast. |

Thanks guys. I just went and looked at it.
It's for sure a 14BFF, but it has a finned housing. It actually looks kinda cool He the spring packs are still attached and I believe they are 3/4 ton (91 Burb) which is a better swap than the M1008 1 ton I currently have bolted in. I also got the factory wheels (chrome-not too fancy) and a good set of 16 inch tires on them. He asked what else I wanted so I took the front calipers/rotors. All of it for $150. Funny thing is it has the U-bolts that wrap around the axle (threaded end up) that I just ordered from ORD to convert my rusted out (threaded end down) type. That alone cost me $100. Guess they will be going back when they arrive tomorrow...lol |

You did good. I guess the '88-up axles had a finned diff housing. That's what my '95 rear has. I didn't know they put full-floating axles in the Suburbans. My '91 diesel V2500 Suburban came with a semi-floating (4.10) and it was ordered all heavy duty and titled at 10,000#. It was a former Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (the water and sewer people for Wash,DC and suburbs) fleet vehicle. It was a work truck that always had the second seat folded down
