Beyond annoyed with my truck's A/C!

Ok, here's the deal. I tried to charge my A/C in my truck about 6 months ago, compressor worked great, quiet, pumped just fine. The freon leaked out in less than a day. So, I just made attempt #2... new accumulator, office tube, new o-rings, flushed the system and added 6 Oz. Of Ester oil. Vacuumed the system down, held 30 in for about 30 mins. Charged the system, around 40 psi low/225hi at idle. Perfect. Lasted 3 days.... Turns out my compressor housing is leaking! Son of a........ I am beyond ticked. Anyone know where I can get a good r4 for a decent price?

can't help you with finding what you need sorry, but I sure would like to change mine to r4. I just charged mine and it leaked out in a day.

Be sure and use a new compressor not a rebuilt. Your other option although pricey is to swap to a sanden compressor.
pm sent.

X2. I bought a new R4 from Advance Auto plus I replace every ac part and o ring in the stock system. Working awesome after after one week. 40 degrees out the center vent. I used PAG 150 oil and charged the low side to about 30 psi. All my research suggested new not reman compressor. Good luck

Re: Beyond annoyed with my truck's A/C!

I just fixed mine with a similiar problem. The pressure built up on mine and blew out the front seal. It was an old compressor sitting on the shelf for a few years. I finally installed it. My local shop replaced all the seals and checked compression for $97. If the compressor failed, they would take that price off a new compressor. Call your local rebuilding shop. Mine runs great!! Mine can blow 60 degrees on a 100+degree day!!
