steering column swap
Here is a picture of the two different plugs. is there an adapter? the wires are not the same color. is there a easy way to change.
the two piece plugs was to my original non tilt 3 speed column. the one piece plug is to the tilt automatic motorhome column from a 67.

I don't know of any adapters, but if it were mine I would splice each wire together, solder, shrink tube wrap each wire, and then tape. It looks like the wire colors are all there to keep it straight.
Good luck! Jim |

Does any one have the wiring diagram for the column so that I can splice the wires correctly as they are different colors.

I believe you can get the adapters at your GM dealer. Someone here probably has the part number as well.

The only adapter that I have seen was for the plug in the left hand side of the pic. It has the U shape on one end and a flat plug on the other, it is for a later model tilt that have all flat connectors. It allows you to use the original under dash U shape plug with the flat style. I don't guess I have ever seen the two piece plug that you have.

The fact that your tilt came from a motorhome is what is making everything goofy. If you were to get a van one, then you could get an adapter at the dealer no problem.
What year/make was the motor home? |

check with ididit columns, I just threw an adaptor in the trash last week. I swapped in one of their columns, shafts, and eliminated the rag joint with u-joints.
