Re: is it worth saving ?
Just amazes me how rough some trucks are treated. Especially a 50th swb, its not like it was purchased to be a company or farm truck.

Re: is it worth saving ?
i think it could make a great driver, most of the rust looks like surface, i mean my dd has no rockers left and yours dont seem all that bad. id just check the driveline and brake/fuel systems especially the lines

alot of the damage was done at the crush yard. they push stuff around with a trackhoe or bobcat. here`s another pic of the front.

Re: is it worth saving ?
Looks like it has as many dents as it does rust. So...it looks like every panel will need to be replaced. The interior need to be gutted and refurbished. But...with all that said if one as the ability and time I say it is worth restoring because it is a 50th.

Re: is it worth saving ?
I'd save it. If nothing else it for me it would be a vehicle to practice fab/metal working skills (yes mine suck horribly but they are getting better VERY SLOWLY with the more practice I get). And if I already had the fab/metal working skills I'd definately save it just for the before/after pics and the right to brag and tell everybody how much blood/sweat/tears (and beers) went into bringing it back from the brink lol.

Re: is it worth saving ?
I'd restore it. It's too banged up to just get running. Faded out original were a favorite of mine before the current "patina truck" trend, but this is far more than old paint. I'm sure this truck went through some hands since the original owner, and who's to say a 50th Anniversary wouldn't be bought for work? It's just a color package.

Re: is it worth saving ?
Have a good look at the frame...And yes it is a starting point and it looks like every panel will have to be replaced and possibly the cab but if the frame is rotted thru then the starting point is gone and the hunt for a new frame is on...
