It Must Be 1985 Again

At least that's how I felt looking at my driveway. You can't see it in the picture, but there's also an '85 GMC K2500 Suburban in addition to the K3500 pickup and the '85 Jimmy. The pickup belongs to a friend. I drove it home Saturday night because fixing a fuel line leak on my '92 ended up requiring dropping the tank, replacing the sending unit, and all line forward. It was too late for parts. Ain't that always the way?

If it;s '85 again you must be the rich family that has 2 brand new and customized trucks in your driveway.

Funny, whenever I'm driving my 85 I seem to only be able to play 80's music... LOL

Re: It Must Be 1985 Again

There's a band around here called "The Reagan Years". I had a girlfriend that would say,"The Reagan Years",every time this guy with the '80s hair would come into to where she worked .
The K3500 is built for work. He tows an equipment trailer (w/Warn 8,000# winch),so he kept the lift at 2",put 285/75s on 7" Ford wheels, and a Locker in the rear. It also has rear discs. So far he has given function his attention with cosmetics on the back burner.

Re: It Must Be 1985 Again

Well,at least I can lay claim to the tan one. Thanks for the compliments. I love that thing. Been running it all summer. If I could continue with it there would be a winch up front, fabbed rear bumper with spare mount, roll cage...maybe even a Dana 60 front axle. It's good enough for what I do as is,though.

Re: It Must Be 1985 Again

One for fun and one for work. Both great in their own way. Now,if I could only scrape up $3,500 for the '87 K30 I found for sale:454/TH400 (I have a 4L80E),Reading utility bed, same color as my Jimmy,A/C,454 is a crate w/30,000,TH400 rebuilt 1,000mi,70% rubber on BFG A/Ts,minimal rust, all stock, comes with plow I'd sell for $1,000. I'm on a GMC kick,so too bad it's not one (hmmm...grille swap?)
