They all made some decent and cool stuff, but there is a definite difference in some of the engineering thought processes, especially back in the day. I have always heard Ford tended to like longer strokes and smaller bores to get there cubes moreso than the other 2. Chrysler put more emphasis on performance than styling or fit and finish, GM had the sexiest/sleekest body lines. All had their advantages and disadvantages it boils down in the end to what you like. I have some of all of them and like them for different reasons. All will last if taken care of and very few will it not.

Re: Ford dash in a square?

Thats so funny on the empahsis of each brand, which is kinda true when certain models were being made. I however know that all my buddies here in the great state of OK the ford owners have all switched out motors for gm or chevys lol. One of my buddies has a fox body pony that has a sticker above the w/s that says chevystang simply bc swamping the motor with a chevy.

Re: Ford dash in a square?

Square dashes are everywhere around here, if not use a old car/truck dash that would be cool. My dad hates the dashes in the squares if he get one he wants a 67-72 dash in it. BTW he hate f**ds too! (he was a auto tech. for 40 years, always said GM had the best engineers).

Re: Ford dash in a square?

On a serious note, Id sell the Ford dash to a Ford guy, take that money and get a GM dash. I think in the long run you will be happier. Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box, but for the amount of work involved, just dont feel it will look right. Thats my 2 cents.
