Dropmember engine angle

Is it just me or does the angle on the motor seem a bit excessive. I see others with a slant, yes, but not like this, although pictures can be slightly misleading. Tranny couldn't be moved up any more because the engine pan would then hit the top of the rack. Motor mounts seemed to also comfortably put the motor at this angle.
Once the rear is done I'm sure there will be more questions about the pinion angle/2pc driveshaft/slip yoke since I've never done that before.

You might send a message to this guy on another forum.

XXL,... used to hang out here,... but now he is mainly over at the C10 Forum.
He's the only guy that I know, that is currently running an inline 6-cylinder, with a Dropmember.

Re: Dropmember engine angle

Will do, thanks. I figured I'd ask Nate or Dave as well.
Do guys with 8cyl. have their motors at a similar angle, and does it make a difference, other than looking a bit weird? Should I be concerned?

Re: Dropmember engine angle

I just took a look at Kevin/Rokcrin/LFD's installation of XXL's dropmember. In post #6 it looks like his motor is at a pretty good angle as well. I was concerned about the pinion angle, stress on the 2pc. driveshaft or carrier bearing (I'm using the CPP billet one) or any other potential issue since that isn't my area of expertise and I've never done anything like this before with 4 wheels.
Thanks for bringing his truck to my attention. I've seen it before, but didn't remember the I6. If anyone has any other thoughts...
