Need pics of hitch setups
I am relocating the gas tank and there is a home made hitch welded in the way.
I don't want to go without a hitch so I need some ideas and pics. Thanks for your input. Steven

Re: Need pics of hitch setups
I just did the same thing, I have a receiver hitch and had to move it as far to the rear of the frame as I could. then I removed it and now Im thinking about putting it back on.

Re: Need pics of hitch setups
I made my own hitch using 1/2" thick flatbar, the old fashion way. Clad the visible part with stainless cover. Not for anything super heavy.

Re: Need pics of hitch setups
Thanks for the input.
I only want it to tow the lawn tractor. I am using a 69 camaro tank so the gas filler will be where the licence plate holder is so it will have to go under the bumper then use a receiver that bends up to the right level. I guess I should just get some stock and cut and tack in till it looks right. Never built a hitch so this will be a first. Steven

Re: Need pics of hitch setups
Steven, I've been trying to get a phone picture of my receiver hitch posted by sending it to my computer, if it doesn't work in a bit, I'll take one with my camera. Hang on

Re: Need pics of hitch setups
let's see if this works:
this is on my '66 long fleet. the top of the receiver where the hitch goes in sets about an 1/8 inch below the stock bumper and pretty much flush with the face of the bumper. obviously the bumper and the bed are off right now.
