transmission help

when i put my truck in reverse it takes 3-4 seconds for it to engage. even when it is warm. the transmission is a th350. it only started this after we rebuilt my motor and put on 33 inch tires. is my transmission going bad? when it finally does engage it kicks in pretty hard

I had one do that once. It eventually went out when I changed the fluid (within a couple of days...). The transmission shop said it was an internal seal that went out. I don't know if that is relevant to your problem, though.

My TH400 went out awhile back and the first symptom of that was that it took awhile to go into reverse in cooler temps. I had changed the fluid and filter also, and it didn't help.

sounds like the transmission is on its way south. as long as the fluid level is good aint much ya can do for it except save your pennies and buy a new one
