coilover spring rate
Maybe a dumb question, but I'm wanting to drop my coils, and go with a coilover setup on my 71 c10. I'm not sure what the spring rate needs to be, the truck has been cut down to a shortbed any advice would be great. Thank you in advance...

Re: coilover spring rate
Are you putting coil-onvers on the front or back, or both? It all depends on the placement of the c.o. unit, and what your driving/ride needs are. We're developing a true bolt-in coil-over kit for the rear right now and hope to have it available soon. The prototype is done and now we are waiting for some product testing. It's intended to be an intermediate kit, something a step above factory replacement springs/shocks, but not a custom weld-in kit. It will have height adjustability, a choice of spring rates (depending on load/ride characteristics wanted), choice of self-adjust, single or double adjustable shocks, and maintains clearances outside of the frame rails for running wide tires.
