shifter slipping out of park?
My column shifter was slipping out of park without pulling the lever towards the steering wheel. Upon closer inspection I found that the little bump on the collar where the detent slides was worn completely off. I fired up the wire feed and layed a small bead in to rebuild it to the original height. It works great now and it was a very easy fix. Hope this helps someone.

Sounds like a great fix. It may also have pressure on the linkage from being out of adjustment. I would loosen up the nut on the rod, put the shifter in park, and manually shift the trans into park to make sure it is all the way in, then re-tighten the nut. LockDoc
