Scosche Stereo Wiring Connector

I just picked this up from wally world and wanted to know if any of you have used it. Its made by Scosche for 73-91 gm , its says "quickly connect factory wiring to your new stereo".

Re: Scosche Stereo Wiring Connector

Haven't used that specific one but I used the same product for 99-06's. If your truck has the stock stereo connector it'll plug right into that. You'll still have to wire it and the connector for the new stereo together but that's not hard. Did you have any questions?

Re: Scosche Stereo Wiring Connector

The stock stereo broke so will a aftermarket one fit the plug?

Re: Scosche Stereo Wiring Connector

If the truck has the stock stereo connector (which I would assume to be true since you're saying the stock radio broke) then yes, the product you bought will connect to the factory wiring. However, there's two styles of this product. One that has a plug on both ends, a plug 'n play of sorts, and one that has a pigtail on it that has to be soldered or crimp connected to the other plug that will come with your new radio. You most likely have the one that has to be connected to another plug.

Re: Scosche Stereo Wiring Connector

Scosche makes some good connector. I have used them several times and have had good luck with them.

Re: Scosche Stereo Wiring Connector

Looked under the dash to find a plug in for the connector and found nothing. My dad had the truck before me and said the original owner screwed around with it and he had to jerry rig it to work.

Bought a jvc stereo and plugged it in after a long talk with dad to figure the wires out and success I'm back in business.
