Modified shift linkage -- does it look right?
If you've followed my build you know that I went with a TH200-4R overdrive while the original TH400 is saved away in storage. Physically, they're pretty close and it dropped right in.
Today I went to hook up the shift linkage, and it appears that the 200 has the linkage a little forward and inboard of where the 400 has it. In order to make it work, I flipped around the frame bracket and used spacers to move it inward about an inch. I won't be able to test it with the column linkage until the cab is back on, but it seems to work by hand, even though it's not lined up perfectly. Below is a photo. I'm wondering if anyone has run into this before and come up with a different or better solution, or if anyone can spot an obvious issue with how I solved it. Thanks, Dave

I used the car style linkage on my 4l60e after I got tired of trying to get all of that stuff to work. I had to make my trucks shifter rod a little longer but works great.

I just install a TH200-4R in my truck as well, I just bought a simple shifter kit, I think it was $40.00.

x2 on the Kugel Komponents shift linkage kit. I used it on my old truck with a 350/700R4. It can be dialed in no matter what combo you are running.

Agreed. My rod needed the factory Z so I just lenthend mine. Hard to beat $40.
