ignition switch removal?

any help on how to get ign. switch out.pushed down thru 2 holes in top and cant get it off?

Here's the process I use:

1. Start by positioning the switch in the “off unlock” position and inserting a paper clip in the small hole in the cylinder face. Push in on the wire to depress the plunger and turn the key counterclockwise.

2. Continue turning until the lock cylinder reaches the stop. Retract the pin a small amount, which is now blocking rotation. Continue rotating counterclockwise until the cylinder can be removed.

Insert key, turn to extreme ccw position; insert & push (against spring-load) with an opened large paper clip thru tiny opening in vertical face of switch; it now will turn further ccw & pop out--key, ign switch 'slug', et al.
