Turbo 350 goes into gear ...
My transmission goes into gear without pressing the brakes or even with the engine off. Is this normal in these older trucks ?

I started mine in Drive once. Thought it was in park.. that was interesting..

Square ,it shouldn't start in any gear other than Park or Nuetral.You need to check your nuetral safety switch.

For those used to newer vehicles a quick note: manual trucks will start without touching the clutch.

Ahh, yes! The days before government involvment to make everyone "safer".
It cracks me up when people see how my dad's 53 Chevy operates. It was so simple, it was complicated.
