and I still need to reroute the exhaust. I cut it off the install the hitch, as the pipes were following the frame previously....

and a slider from the junk yard, cleaned up, and put on some vinyl, and a new gasket....

Good day today. got my Brake Controller installed, and got the 7-pin RV socket installed.

while I was at it, I ran power back to the rear of the truck for a 12V socket, and the topper dome light. replaced some wiring for the backup lights, but they still don't work...

found out I have been running without tail lights/brake lights for a bit, and resolved that issue...

all trailer lights work properly, so my RV socket install is good...

started the sleeping platform build (quick and dirty version) since I need it for next weekend...

and after more poking around I verified that my bed is a '67. I thought the marker lights had been filled in, but that's not the case... and the bed was originally Dark Teal.

well i know for sur your cab is 68 72 and your frnt clip is 69 72 duh and your new door is 68 so thats what i discovered still is a nice truc and with a good paintin ittl be awsome

how can you tell the new door is a '68? it has the dimple and screw below the wing vent... the door was originally red...

well the handle gos through the window and it has 67 68 trim so should be a 68 door guess not

I used the existing holes in the stake pockets to mount some cross beams. (2"x3") (some ripped down lumber I had laying around)
and then for the end mount, I used some 1/2" iron pipe with floor flanges (both ends, but only screwed into the sleep deck), so I can still slide stuff underneath. the deck isn't anchored down, so that if I need to pull one up, I can just slide it over the other one...

I just put some flat tabs on with an existing window screw, and the denim curtains have a dowel at the tops that just sits behind the tabs... just enough for sleep time....

and I put some groovin' carpet in the cab the sill plates came out of a Dodge RamCharger I think....

headroom is actually pretty decent as it has a highrise topper on it... (6" higher I think) We used it this past weekend, and it worked great. one side of the platfom is 6' and the other is 6'6" to allow for room for taller items to be stored, and provide a place to step and get in. I was able to close the tailgate and rear window easily. using the pipes for the end supports worked well...

I did that to my truck and one night while camping in the middle of the night i needed to get out and pee, well I forgot and banged my head pretty darned hard.... Don't forget!

so... 2 years later... I put on the other door...

this door got the same treatment, as far as new hinges, new bottom window seals, new window regulator, new crank handle, and new armrest, and new mirror. I had painted the panel 2 years ago.

I guess earlier this summer, I did fix my seat so I could adjust it again, and replaced the gas tank with another new one that was better made...

I also put in a steering wheel from an early 90's pickup instead of the '74 one I had in there... I thought about putting the grant one in that was in it when I got it, but I just couldn't do it. felt like a go-kart steering wheel...
