Good Deal? Buy It, or Forget It?

Take a look at this truck. I'm looking for some feedback/thoughts, etc.

It's a 307 with 128,000 miles. 3 on the tree. Minimal rust. Good clutch.

Opinions please!

Just my opinion, ~ $2,500 truck in this area. I personally would pass.

Re: Good Deal? Buy It, or Forget It?

youre in cali, gonna be a little more expensive, talk him down to around 3k and if you can walk away with it seems like a good deal from what I can see, check floor, inner rockers, cab corners and mounts for rust first

I say just the opposite of BuiltwithIVy since you are in Cali you should be able to find some deals if you look and wait for the right one.

It looks like a real good deal to me. You would want to check it real good for rust or lousey body work. Make sure the cab supports are solid.

Tailgate trim doesn't match. Engine looks refreshed, is it original?

Re: Good Deal? Buy It, or Forget It?

Truck looks in pretty good condition. Odd to see manual disc brakes, so I would check that out. The tail gate doesn't seem to be the original due to wood grain trim and color seems to have a slight difference. The small dent on the bed as previously mentioned.

Show them a wad of cash that you will give for the truck on low offer, go up to what you are comfortable with paying. Then use the walk away tactic. Pretty clean truck though. It's a $2500 truck to me, no more than $3000. In the words of the wise. It is worth whatever someone is willing to give for it.

Re: Good Deal? Buy It, or Forget It?

I would look it over real good. If it's as clean, solid as it looks, and as original as they claim, it's a good deal.

Re: Good Deal? Buy It, or Forget It?

That's probably a fair price but keep looking. There has been some $3500 short beds popping up now and again around here. Lots of trucks came with manual disc brakes, pretty common. If it were more closer I would go look at it with ya.

Re: Good Deal? Buy It, or Forget It?

I frequent CL often, and live nearby. If its just what you're looking for i wouldnt feel bad paying $3k, but that's it. If your flexible on year and trim and youre not in a rush youll find a straight driver for mid two's. Tons of long beds around here...
