install new fresh air vent seals?
was looking at my seals down at the vent flapper...gasket is pretty much shot. how does the gasket install? does the whole vent door assembly need to be taken out to install?this is on a 68 so it prolly is different from the later models...much like the vent handle and rod assembly i think is different.thanks for any help..

All 67-72 cowl vents are identical on costruction, to replace the seals you do need to remove the flap doors, this can be done by opening flap door, then remove rod used to open it from door, on backside top of door there is a spring loaded pin pull down on it and lift door and remove, I then drill out the blind rivets that join inner and outer section of vent door seal is sandwiched between, some folks just use standard rivets to replace those drilled out, I use the blind rivets in our vent window repair kit myself to replace them with the correct style.
