Reccomend me some shocks/springs

I've got a 1970 chevy stepside (1/2 ton c10) that sits at stock height right now and I'd like to keep it that way. I am about to install the Early Classics front disc conversion and I thought it might be a good time to put new springs/shocks on the front (and rear I guess too) as a "while you're in there" type deal. What shocks/springs would you guys reccomend? And best places to purchase? Thanks!

Dave

Re: Reccomend me some shocks/springs

On Early Classic's website they offer KYB shocks for $55 each, front springs for $95 and rear springs for $114 and $18 for retainer cups for the rear springs. That would total $447 before tax/shipping.

Re: Reccomend me some shocks/springs

I've heard KYB and Bilstien make good shocks and can be purchased from summit racing or Jegs. I plan to replace mine with those on my two trucks. Hopefully will do that next month (dealing with a carb issue this month grrrrrrr) and will be more than happy to let you know which ones I get and how they ride.

Re: Reccomend me some shocks/springs

I have monroe sens-a-trac shocks out back and they are awesome! smooth ride, great control and they were only 88 for the set form O’rilleys. I plan to have Bilsiens up front next year when I redo the front of the truck.

Re: Reccomend me some shocks/springs

Since you're buying from ECE anyway, go ahead and get the complete 4/6 drop kit with KYB shocks, relocators, etc., etc. You won't be disappointed.
