1963 c10 electrical problems
problem #1 i have no power at ignition switch unluss i run jump wire from battery over to horn relay,i've seen a couple wiring schematics that appear to show this,is this correct ??? or is there another wire thats supposed to share the pos post on battery or is that just supposed to just the main cable to the starter ???,
problem #2 when i pull the light switch out i get headlights but no dash lights,there is no power going through the instrument fuse on the panel unless i bring a hot feed to the terminal on the side of the fuse block at that point,what is correct ?? is there a wire missing ???,i've been using a test light,new switch etc.......electric no my strong suit HELP !!!!!!!1 THANKS |

A 10GA or so wire runs form battery to horn relay, truck feeds from the horn relay. Headlight switch likely bad causing dash light failure.

hi,and thanks for the tip,i found today a bad 2 prong plug in the alternator,wich was the cause of my ammeter "no charge" condition but i for got to try starting it without the jump wire after that !!,going back out to truck !!,thanks also no power thru instrument light fuse area,new switch too !! and dash lights dont work without a jumper to this area and switch wont brighten or dim the dash lights,tried 3 switches and this happens with all,where do i look next ??? thanks
