How low can you go before notching.

I have asked this before but didnt really get a clear answer. When lowering what is the lowest it can go before having to do any frame work. Does the same measuments go for 1/2 tons as well as 1 tons.

Just wanting to know so I can keep it in mind when I lower mine. I dont want to do any frame work. I have an 85 short bed now and also thinking about looking at a regular cab dually. Maybe lower both.

You might want to post this over on the suspension forum.

Up front I guess you can go with 3" spindles and 2" coils and in the back 4" drop from shakels and hangers without de-arching or removing leafs

Typically 5-6in is as low as you can go without a c-notch on a 1/2 ton. You realy need a bare minimum of 2in suspension travel from axle to frame.

Mine is on the bumpstops all the time, it rides a little harsch but notches are strictly forbidden here and a direct failure on annual inspections (otherwise I would hav cut it)
