How would you do it?
I have my turbo 350 and 350 engine out of my truck now. I need to put them back in. im not wild about pulling apart the whole front clip, but i would sorta like to put them in whole. I have the hood off, the tranny crossmember is still in, and thats it. i have no tranny jack, but i have a forklift and an engine crane. what would you all suggest? i really hope its and easy idea. thanx

you can jack the thing up really high, have someone else push down the tranny as you slowly lower the motor and push the engine crane toward the truck. It is doable but it takes a couple of friends and some beer

I almost always pull engine and tranny together. Hang them from the hoist with the tailshaft of the tranny about a foot lower than the oil pan and be careful guiding it in. An extra pair of hands and eyes is very helpful, but it can be done single handed.

I put a Corvette LT1 and 6 speed manual in an s10 by chocking the front tires and jacking the rear end way up. Then I let the tranny tailshaft hang about 1 foot lower than the engine (same as Krue). I did all this myself. Hope this helps. Just remember to take it slow.

I do them by myself all the time....I rarey separate motor and trans, to me it is easier to pull/install them together. Engine hoist and floorjack is all that is needed. I use a carb plate to lift the motor and hang it at almost a 45 degree angle. You don't really have to lift it that high...I push it close and lift the trans over the grill by hand. Once it gets in the engine compartment use the floorjack to level it out and get the trans over the crossmember.

I bought a load leveler for $30 from Harbor Freight, and it was really easy with an engine hoist. I just pointed the tranny down, then leveled it out as I pushed it back. I guess two people are always better, but this was pretty much a one-man job.
