Thoughts on this truck?
http://lancaster.craigslist.org/cto/3250564314.html
i'm looking for a nice, clean work truck... price still seems a little steep to me.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
If it weren't for the dirty rusty engine compartment, I would have said it was worth it. I would think that there is more hidden rust in that one.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
Those 10 foot pictures are tricky when it comes to rust unless its already put a hole in the truck and i figured after it said c10 it would be 2wd so my mind saw that and 5k+ and said not ever but that's just me

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
Call him and go see it. If he is "highly motivated" and it seems to be in decent shape when you are there offer 3500 or 4K and see if he wants to sell it. The new tires alone are worth some cash.
It might be a gem but it is just hard to tell from pics on the i'net. I drove from L'ville to atlanta to look at mine when the e-bay auction ended. I contacted the guy first and said I wanted to look at it but just couldn't bid on e-bay without looking it over first. |

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
Not sure what trucks sell for in your area, but in the Northwest that is a bit steep.
I would inspect closely the replaced cab floor, that may provide some insight as to the level of workmanship you might find elsewhere. Good luck & please update us on your decision |

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
That is a hell of a lot for a smallblock 1/2 ton that probably has a TH350/NP203. Around here, that truck would go for literally half of that price or less...and my money would be on the latter.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
Looking at the fire wall makes me think there is rust under that red paint. Unless they did it the right way and cut it all out. Then it would be a good.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
I agree, the firewall pics make me think that there is plenty of hidden issues....
For $2500 I'd be all over it, but not at double... thanks.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
Looks pretty, but not that price pretty. I didn't go look at it, but there is another truck on craigs in Albany, says it's a 73, but front clip and interior says mid 80s. Real clean looking truck, 454, auto, 1/2t, plow, nice 31s, for $3500. Little rust on the cab corners, but most trucks around here they are gone anyways.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
I`d agree with the others, there is prob more rust hiding in that cowl. If the body looked like that before paint, I can only image it rusting out again soon. Tough to say with out seeing it, but seems like a $2500 or less truck to me.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
I stay away from all 73-77 Chevys in this area. '78-ups had way less issues with rust (as in just normal). If a 73-77 hasn't been all ate up and repaired, then it sat inside all winter every winter...and most rainy days for that matter. I'd love to bring a 73-75 full top K/5 back from Arizona, but would expect it to rust out in a garage back east.

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
I think i'll look for a K-20 or K-30 when I get back from Stan next fall. Maybe a CUCV will work for a work truck...

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
CUCVs are cool for sure. But,you might want a little more luxury when you get back from Stan. BTW,when exactly are you leaving in Oct?

Re: Thoughts on this truck?
roll out in 2 weeks, I still plan to buy a decent car for the MPG.... then I want a rust free work truck to beat around town in (mulch, leaves etc...)
Let me know if you want to sell the 72!
